FAQs

Something we haven’t covered? Email info@sidewall.com.au.

Is racket hire available?

Yes! Either at reception or at the vending machine when unstaffed.

Will staff be there when I arrive?

Most of the open hours will be staffed, but there may be times outside of standard hours when you arrive and staff won't be there. Never fear — the club is fully automated. Playtomic will give you an access code in your booking to enter at the door. The code gives you access 15 minutes ahead of your booking, lights turn on automatically, and rackets are available for hire from the vending machine.

I've never played. Can someone give me an intro to the rules?

Absolutely. Just ask at reception and staff will be happy to help. If you're coming during off-peak hours, just shoot an email to info@sidewall.com.au to make sure someone will be there.

I'm not very fit or coordinated, but I heard padel is easier than tennis. Is this true?

Very true. Padel is easy to get started but difficult to master. Underarm serves and the glass walls remove a lot of the frustration of tennis for a beginner — and add a lot of fun for the pros!

Can kids play?

Definitely. Sidewall's singles courts are especially good for accommodating little people. Put four of them on a singles court and watch them go.

I've seen Sidewall hosting weekly competitions called 'Americano'. What is that?

An Americano is a great way to get involved in padel games. Everyone plays as an individual in a series of short matches over 1.5 hours. Players are assigned a partner for each match by the system, and each match runs to a set number of points (e.g. best of 24). Then players are shuffled again for the next match. Whoever has the most points overall at the end wins. Weekly winners get a prize and their Polaroid on the wall!
